Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

The best performers of the session on the were Novolipetsk Steel PAO (MCX:), which rose 4.96% or 6.58 points to trade at 139.28 at the close. Meanwhile, Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank OAO (MCX:) added 3.89% or 0.23 points to end at 6.20 and AFK Sistema (MCX:) was up 2.56% or 0.41 points to 16.22 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were VK Company Ltd DRC (MCX:), which fell 2.64% or 9.20 points to trade at 338.80 at the close. Ros Agro PLC (MCX:) declined 2.63% or 30.00 points to end at 1,110.00 and PIK (MCX:) was down 2.41% or 16.40 points to 663.30.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 145 to 97 and 11 ended unchanged.
The , which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 0.70% to 35.97.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.84% or 21.20 to $2,547.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.17% or 0.12 to hit $69.32 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.04% or 0.03 to trade at $72.88 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.02% to 88.24, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 98.05.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 101.03.
