Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) has awarded its lucrative media account to Omnicom Media Group and WPP, taking over the account from incumbent IPG Mediabrands, a division of Interpublic Group of Companies (IPG), which has maintained Amazon’s advertising business since 2013.
The decision was made after a six-month bidding process and will commence in 2025.
The $20B+ media account was made available for bids at the end of 2023, resulting in a win for WPP and OMG, the former taking over Amazon’s APAC and EMEA media business, the latter taking over the Americas.
Omnicom Media Group is a part of the Omnicom Group (OMC) portfolio of agencies.
