Happy Wednesday. This is TheStreet’s Stock Market Today for Oct. 22, 2025. You can follow the latest updates on the market here in our daily live blog.

The U.S. stock market is now open. Stocks have sank just a little bit from earlier futures trading, with the S&P 500 (-0.04%), Russell 2000 (-0.11%), Dow (-0.14%), and Nasdaq (-0.18%) all facing declines.

A handful of reports are already out this morning, including Thermo Fisher, AT&T, and GE Vernova.

At first glance, it looks like a healthy showing from most of the firms on the A.M. shortlist. There are some earnings and revenue misses here and there, but they are not as plentiful as they have been in recent days. Take a look for yourself:

This morning, before the bell tolls, we’re also seeing some of the reactions from the morning reports. Per premarket data from MarketWatch, Intuitive Surgical (+17.76%) is atop the market this A.M. after reporting strong earnings, along with Vertiv (+7.1%) and Hilton (+3.1%). Some of yesterday’s earnings excitement also boiled into today, including Pegasystems (+12.5%), Capital One (+4.12%) and Haliburton (+2.77%).

On the other end of the market, a weaker after hours showing from Texas Instruments (-7.9%) is nearly atop the laggards list at MarketWatch, trailed by yesterday’s other earnings depthgrovelers like Manhattan Associates (-7.9%), Netflix (-7.4%) and Newmont (-4.77%).

In earnings from this morning, Mattel (-5.5%) is really the only one among the crop, declining after missing on results and seeing North American sales decline.

Good morning. Stock futures are little-changed overnight ahead of a slew of earnings this morning, with indexes up just a few basis points.

The 10YTreasury was 1.9 points lower at 3.944%. The Continuous Gold Contract was 1.76% lower at $4,036.80.

Plus, the U.S. government shutdown enters its 22nd day today, with still no end in sight.

Here’s what is on deck for today:

Today’s three largest earnings — Tesla, SAP, and IBM — will have to wait until after the bell, but there are a few reports that investors won’t have to wait for.

This morning, reports from Thermo Fisher, AT&T, and GE Vernova will be taking the lead.

In total, there’s over 153 reports due out today per TipRanks; here are some of the top ones due out:

This morning, we already got the latest data from the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), showing the 30-year at 6.37% and applications moderated in the week of Oct. 17.

The only other major economic data report today is from the Energy Information Administration, which will be updating Crude Oil and Gasoline Stock changes (10:30 a.m.), as well as refreshes on other energy products.
